Oscar hosts Announced

An interesting choice for the Oscar hosts next year. We all know Anne Hathaway can sing, dance do it all from her stint with Hugh Jackman on the Oscars two years ago but James Franco....time will tell. Anything is better than last years debacle. And at least they will be nice to look at.

RIP

Sad news today that comedic actor  Leslie Nielsen has passed away. His comedy roles over the past couple of decades have been fantastic. My personal favourite is the pilot in Flying High. A touch close to the  bone for those times but absolutely hilarious. And one of my favourite lines of all time ' Dont Call me Shirley' something I have included in both productions of The Wizard of oz I have directed. Rest in Peace sir!!

What are her parents thinking

Not only have her parents encouraged a recording deal at age 10 (OMG have you heard the song) but now she makes red carpet appearances dressed like this. What the hell????? Your 10 for gods sakes!!!!Shame on you Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

My pick for most stylish royal bride

Probably the most stylish royal bride of this generation. Lady Helen Windsor was a most beautiful bride. Hopefully Kate might learn from her great style. Mind you Im a little biased. As a child I had great hopes of a royal romance between myself and the lady Helen. Who'd have thought.

Thoughts and Prayers today

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those who have perished at the Pike River Mine. Now is not a time for condemnation but a time for togetherness.

Todays blog is about RESPECT

Respect.. Something that seems to be lacking in todays society. We should respect people differences. We should respect that people have a different outlook to ourselves. We should respect people enough to not go behind peoples backs and make decisions without consultation.. Without respect for each other we have nothing. I respect all my friends in different ways even if at times I dont agree with their outlook. Please try and think about this when making arbitrary decisions that will affect peoples lives. Small things affect so many bigger things.and most of all respect peoples opinions even though they may not be the same as yours.

What a great Idea...the mind boggles

Two undertakers in the northwestern German city of Cologne are trying to tap into the gay market by selling coffins adorned with images of male nudes.

The prize piece in their display window is a coffin decorated with images of mostly naked, muscular young men in athletic poses inspired by Italian Renaissance paintings.

"We believe you should be able to have a coffin that lets you embark on your last journey in a way that reflects how you lived your life," undertaker Thomas Brandl told Reuters on Thursday.

The unconventional coffin, which costs $2,954, has aroused fascination among customers, said Brandl: "People are really interested because it's so unique. Reactions have been very positive so far."

Brandl, 32, and his 34-year-old business partner Michael Koenigsfeld, said they had branched out into the gay market in order to satisfy the increasing number of special requests they received.

"Even though the Lord Mayor of Berlin, the vice-chancellor and many others openly admit to being homosexual nowadays, marginal groups still face prejudices and bureaucratic hurdles," the pair said in a statement.
They said they provided an individual and different service which offered a warm and fantastical departure for same-sex couples.

The gay couple also sell coffins and urns in rainbow colours - the international symbol of the gay and lesbian movement - and offer burials around a tree reserved exclusively for homosexuals.

Given estimates which suggest that around one in 10 of Cologne's population is homosexual, Brandl and Koenigsfeld are well placed to serve the gay community.

The pair also cater for the heterosexual market in an unconventional way, giving customers the opportunity to get involved in designing coffins for their loved ones.

"You can choose different colours and designs," Brandl said.
"You could go for Cologne's skyline or lots of women on your coffin. A grandmother might like images of her grandchildren on hers - there are loads of possibilities."

I want one with Marilyn Monroe images all over it!!!!

WTF

Why would someone ruin a perfectly good dress by adding something that there is no description for. Your seventeen for gods sake, dress like a seventeen year old. Oh dear me!!!! has she never heard the phrase less is more.

Who is the most eligible royal bachelor

So now Prince William is off the market. who will take his place as most eligible royal bachelor. Most would pick Prince Harry who has a roguish charm but my pick is Andrea Casiraghi, 26 year old son of Princess Caroline of Monaco. With movie star good looks and a body to die for he would be any girls fantasy Prince.

Hot Gossip

A little birdie tell me a NZ version of a worldwide phenomenon is getting prepared to take to our screens. Typical of NZ TV to jump on the bandwagon. Lets just hope its a little more enticing than other drivel we have encountered like NZ Idol (who won that again?) or NZ's Next top model (with 'International top model' Colin whats his name who gives gay men a bad name and the hostess wth the personality of a pet rock ). However the two names(watch this space) Ive heard bandied about as judges really makes one cringe. I say make Paul Henry a judge, at least he will provide some entertainment.

Best dressed this week

The future Princess of Monaco,Charlene Wittstock certainly dressed to impress on Monaco's national day showing she is definitely a contender for best dressed this week. Both outfits show a sense of style and grace and proves she is the right choice for her future husband. His dearly departed mother would be proud.Pity Caroline's daughter looks like some kind of possessed child!

Thoughts on Glee

I have just watched Episode three of the new season of Glee. Glee has a magical ability to make one see songs used in ways you never thought about. i want to hold your hand was a beautiful rendition fitting to the situation. I know its not Shakespeare or Checkov but its great to see them artistically thinking outside the square. It would be so easy to use some already classic soppy song but instead they take a classic and they make the songs their own, take ownership and deliver something very special to the audience. Lennon and McCartney should be proud of their song being used in such a way.

Plus Kurts hat rocked!!! Im off to get one just like it to wear to the royal wedding!!!

Glee rocks wth gwyneth

Be yourself

A very wise woman once said to me 'be yourself, dont try and be what others want you to be and dont be afraid of your emotions'. I have lived that way ever since. It hasnt been easy to say the least but I am proud of who I am and what I have achieved. Yes I wear my heart on my sleeve but at least you know what your getting. To those who struggle with their identity i give the same advice but add....your true friends will not judge. They will stand by you for they are the ones that truly love you!!

A Royal Wedding

Why do we live in a world full of knockers. I cried today when I saw the interview of Prince William and Kate Middleton. What a lovely gesture William giving Kate his mothers ring was. It was a very personal and symbolic gesture and one I applaud. If I was straight and giving my fiancee a ring what a fitting tribute to my mother that would be. Please lets not compare Kate to Diana, that could spell doom from the start. She is a articulate well educated woman who is marrying the man she loves. Lets be fair and give her a chance!

Although have to say not sure about the boring blue dress!!!
