New Years resolutions

So apart from wanting world peace and to win Miss World which is my new years resolution every year its time to start working on getting the old body in shape. i know I know we all say that every year and nothing ever gets done but this year Im serious, so come 1st January I am going to start an exercise regime...walking form the living room to the kitchen and opening the ridge door(just Joking). Now I have decided the old giving up smoking thing is a little redundant however as the government are putting the cost of cigarettes up again I guess I will cut down....AGAIN.
2011 is going to be about me...getting my life in order, making myself the person I an comfortable with and enjoying life. Im not going to sweat the small stuff. I want to be a better friend to those I love and rid myself of those people who bleed me of my energy.
So to everyone out there...Happy New Year! i hope 2011 brings you everything that you wish for.

the pasta experience

So I got a pasta machine for christmas. Last night I decided to try it out. Now i know why we can buy ready made pasta from the Supermarket. I had flour from one end of the kitchen to the other. Strings of pasta were stuck to the bench top. However it tasted pretty good once I finally got it all together. The kitchen needed to be totally scrubbed down afterwards. Cost of Supermarket pasta around $4...cost of making your own about $30 (eggs, flour, time, cleaning equipment, countless fun(NOT)) Thanks Saskia for the pasta machine but I think ill be relying on the supermarket in future unless I have about five hours spare.

ouch!!!!

Poor Hugh Jackman. First he gets injured on a flying fox at the oprah extravaganza, on boxing day while playing cricket he got hit in the crotch area with a cricket ball. The ball was thrown by that cad Shane Warne (Another reason to dislike him). However Mr Jackman learned a very valuable lesson. According to reports he quipped ' Dont wear boxer shorts while playing cricket.' That has got to hurt!!!

Royals at Christmas

Slim pickings this year at the traditional royal christmas church service. The Queen looked absolutely magnifiscent and shared the spotlight with her two grand daughters Eugenie and Beatrice. But many royals were missing this year, notably the Princess Royal, Prince William and peter and Autumn Phillips.. Kate Middleton was having her last christmas as a commoner with her family. How different next years line up will be. My prediction there will be at least one pregnant royal lady this time next year.

Oh My Oh My

Having just spent an afternoon on a beach I am astounded at the number of people who really dont care how they are perceived by others. Comendable you might say but really some women should not wear bikinis and some men should also be careful what swimwear they flash their body in. Some sights were particularly horrendous. A little dissapointing at the lack of eye candy of both the male and female variety but it seems overindulgence at christmas is not a thing of beauty. You might say people in glass houses should not throw stones however I did not put my body on display for others to mock me. I know my weaknesses very well.
Public displays of affection on the beach are also not acceptable especially when the male involved is only wearing underwear. No shame whatsoever. The only one consoling feature was the man in question was pretty buff.
Then when I visited the toilet I was greated by the sight of a stark naked asian man washing his feet in the hand basin. One really did not know where to look. Please if you are going to get naked do so in the privacy of your own home or on a clothing optional beach not in a toilet block. I have been mentally scarred by the sight of being greeted by two butt cheeks with something dangling between them. I might add it seems to be a fallacy what is intimated about the size of an asian mans appendage. however it is not something I needed to see when one is releaving oneself.

WTF

Great reporting here...taken from Yahoo....

A 5.4 magnitude earthquake rattled the Bay of Plenty early this morning.
The quake struck 30 kilometres north east of Tauranga at a depth of 210km about 3am.
It may have been felt in the North Island, the Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences said.

Its nice to know it MAY have been felt where it was centred...Doh

Christmas Engagement

Hugh Hefner has announced that he is engaged...AGAIN. the 84 year old proposed to his current girlfriend 24 year old Crystal on Christmas Day. 60 years difference...go Hef. Of course she really really loves him...just like a great grandfather methinks. Oh well it gives one hope that someday my prince will come. Lets hope hes not 84!!! Hope hef has a pre nup agreement worked out and has an airtight will. I still think he should have married Holly! He must be keeping the company that makes Viagra afloat.

Smile its Christmas

Christmas is over for another year and on boxing day I find myself waking up feeling pretty average and thinking to myself why do we do it. Every year we gather together and eat far too much and in some cases drink too  much. We spend too much and generally over indulge. And then the next day we suffer for that over indulgence.
However Christmas is also a time of celebration and yesterday the looks of joy on the childrens faces as they opened their christmas presents made it all seem so worth while.
Its also a wonderful time to share fun and laughs with your closest friends which is what I did last night. A few rounds of Charades, fireworks and a bottle of french champagne later looking back makes the headache this morning seem almost worth it.
I hate the thought of anyone being alone on Christmas Day, it saddens me. But thinking about that this morning I think its sad that people are alone anytime of the year but i think at Christmas is when this hits home the most.
Please whatever you do thsi festive season spare a smile for the pensioner that you pass in the street, a cheery hello to those neighbours you see but do not know. It could make someones day.

Lets try and make our new years resolutions this year self less ones and think about how we can make the world a slightly better place with just one smile!!

Something to celebrate for Christmas

Today at 9.35 am President Obama signed the Dont Ask Dont Tell repeal. Great news for the gay community in the United States of America and for the military, now they can have some real men fighting for their country. one more step towards equality!!!!

Spiderman the musical not popular

Spiderman the Musical is causing quite a controversy on Broadway with many actors calling for it to be closed down. Since Test shows started four actors have been injured and the show is currently closed due to state safety inspections although word is it will open again later this week. The most recent, Christopher Tierney, fell on monday and broke ribs and is in a serious condition in hopspital; another suffered a concussion, and yet another broke both wrists. Adam Pascal from Rent is calling for it to be closed down and for the director and writers to be sued by the injured actors. Im sure this will be a continuing saga.

world of the wacky

Prince Frederic von Anhalt, 9th husband of Zsa Zsa Gabor was admitted to hospital with one of his eyes glued shut. It appears he mistook nail glue for his eyedrops( not the sharpest tool in the shed).
Two years ago he claimed to be the father of Anna Nicole's daughter, the man is seriously a fortune hunter. Apparently he has started a campaign to become the next governor of California.
Dear old Zsa Zsa is 93 and has been in and out of hospital in the past few months even having the last rights administered.
Will be interesting to see how much the Prince will inherit when darlink Zsa Zsa eventually dies. Horrible horrible man!

A year of Royal Weddings

It seems 2011 will be a boomer year for royal watchers. With William and Kate, and Albert and Charlene and now Zara Phillips and Mike Tindall have announced their engagement. All I can say its about time too. No date has been set yet.

Full Marks Kate

Full marks to Kate on her first official outing with her fiancee Prince William. Dresed in a Black and white dress with a fitted black jacket it was a far cry from the balck ruffled number that Diana wore on her first official outing all those years ago. She certainly has her own style. Well done. I await what she wears to church in Christmas Day.

recommended Viewing

I recently watched the DVD of Harry Brown. An excellent movie starring Michael Caine. Now I have never been a Michael Caine fan, I think he acts the same in all his movies but his performance in this movie is exceptional. Those who know me may be surprised that I enjoyed a movie full of violence, blood and guts (as Im a chick flick kind of guy) but it really is riveting. I heartily recommend this movie to anyone to enjoy.
Its a tale of a senior citizen who decides to avenge the murder by some thugs of his best friend by handing out his own form of justice. Yay the Underdog!!!It begs the question 'what would you do in this situation'.

Sexiest Men 2010

Here is my pick for the five sexiest men of 2010.

5. Ashton Kutcher - one can see why Demi Moore keeps him close.
4.Ian Somerhalder - The Vampire Diaries cutie has the eyes that could melt anybody's heart
3.Chord Overstreet - okay I had to have one Glee person here, last year would have been Mathew Morrison but those lips...
2.Gael Garcia Bernal - latin, hot .....need I say more
1. Tom Hardy - The Inception looker has everything that makes one want to turn gay(okay so im already there but you know what I mean)

Dumb b#%ch

What a pity our Sundays are filled with the drivel that is disguised as celebrity gossip. Today is no exception, where the doyon of gossip (she wishes) Rachel Glacoma gives out her awards for 2010.
Now for someone who professes to be a journalist the truth obviously isnt an important. But then for someone whose picture in her column makes her look vaguely attractive probably doesnt need to worry about minor things like truthfulness. (And yes I have met her and her picture vaguely resembles the real thing give or take a few pounds).
Why is she so damn bitter! Love the fact that she gives an award for self promotion to Charlotte Dawson. Does Charlotte Dawson revel in her own self importance and give out yearly awards that quite frankly most New Zealands wouldnt give a toss about. Think you should have given that one to yourself Rachel.
And who cares if Dan Carter visited a sex shop and bought toys for a gift basket for a mate. She calls it 'so high school'. Are people not permitted to have fun? Get a sense of humour Rachel!!!!!!!
Also her loose use of the word celebrity amuses me...has been cricketeers, league players and league players ex wives do not a celebrity make. Aja Rock ....who?????
And yes if I was Nicky de Villiers Id ban you too!!!!

Fitting in very well

My goodness, what a difference an engagement ring makes. Princess in Training Charlene Wittstock is pictured at the Monte Carlo Christmas party. She scrubs up quite well really and looks every bit the Princess she is about to become. 2011 is going to be an interesting year for royal weddings. Not only am I looking forward to the Wills/ Kate nuptials but also July 2nd and 3rd when 52 year old Albert marries 32 year old Charlene.

Top Five entertaining shows 2010

Here is my first top five for this year. Its my top five TV programmes for this year.

5. Fashion Police - total mindless entertainment...pure voyourism...and so fantastically hosted by Joan Rivers.

4. Heart and Soul - A geat british series about a church choir. Its british at its best. totally underrated

3. Eastenders - I have become a major fan over the past six months. Nothing beats the acting of Zanaib, she is fantastic

2. The Graham Norton Show - hilarious, hugely gay, sometime can be boring if the guests dont get into the spirit of the show. My fav guest so far... Sir Alan Sugar with Pamela Stephenson... Hilarious

1. Glee - Of course!!!

Okay I didnt say they were going to be Shakespeare ...These are pure entertainment.

Keep reading my blog as I tell you my top five in many catergories.

RIP

COndolensces go to Julie Andrews and her family at the loss of her husband of 41 years, director Blake Edwards. Mr Edwards directed some classic movies such as Breakfast at Tiffanys, 10,Victor /Victoria and The Pink Panther. Alas he was also responsible for the terrible SOB  which gave us the momorable exposure to La Andrews breasts, definitely not one of er finer moments. However such a great talent that will be sorely missed by many I'm sure

Stop the Bullying

Once Upon a time there was a quite gay boy growing up in suburban New Zealand.  He loved theatre, movies, the arts and boys.  His life at a single sex high school consisted of being beaten up on the way to school most days, he always looked forward to rainy days as the boys that beat him up didn’t like getting wet. At lunch time and intervals one of his so called friends would beat him up if he didn’t go and stand in line at the tuck shop for him. If a teacher wasn’t present in class he was tortured and humiliated by the other boys. His history teacher refused to give him the text books he needed because he said ‘ girls didn’t get books at boys High’. Then there was the after school job  which was pretty good and harassment free. However, Fear gripped him every night as he  walked home from said job as one particular boy every night would spit on him and verbally abuse him. How this young man survived is amazing, but I did. This young man was me and I survived the bullying. I am joining Ellen in her fight against bullying. If my story affects just one person then I’m glad I told it. I was lucky. That was many years ago, in today’s society it is becoming increasingly dangerous to be different. Please embrace everyone’s differences as it is our differences that make this world a great place.

WTF

What is going on with our Justice system. After reading about the taxi driver yesterday, today I read about a 21 year old who was found guilty of sexual assault on a 12 year old and has been fined $2000 to go towards her education plus undergo 275 hours' community work and 12 months intensive supervision, including alcohol and drug counselling. Apparently the 12 year old said the worst thing was her parents finding out. Im sorry even if it was consentual she is still 12 for god sake! If it had been a gay man he would have been thrown in jail and the key thrown away not to mention the prison justice that would be dished out.I think a few of these judges need a good long christmas holiday, their judgement is obviously getting very clouded.

Best dressed this week

Okay so her is what a princess should look like. Awesome glamour at the Nobel Awards Ceremony. Even upstaged Anne Hathaway which in my book is pretty hard to do.

Good grief

And how much was paid for this bit of research?
The idea of people needing "beauty sleep" has acquired some scientific backing, according to a Swedish study.
People deprived of sleep for long periods appear less attractive and more unhealthy than those who are well rested, say researchers.
Volunteers were photographed after eight hours sleep and again after being kept awake for 31 hours.
Observers scored the sleep-deprived participants as less healthy and less attractive, the BMJ reports.
The concept of beauty sleep is well known.
But, according to researchers at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, it has lacked scientific support.
The team asked untrained observers to rate the faces of 23 young men and women who had been photographed after a normal night's sleep and then after a night of sleep deprivation.
The photographs were standardised so that people were the same distance from the camera, wore no make-up and used the same expression.
The observers rated the sleep-deprived as less healthy, more tired and less attractive than those who had had enough sleep.
The authors wrote in their paper published in the British Medical Journal: "Sleep deprived people are perceived as less attractive, less healthy and more tired compared with when they are well rested."
They say the results may be useful in a medical setting, helping doctors to pick up signs of ill-health in their patients.

What gave them away...the bags under their eyes. I need a grant to research if i drink Gin and eat chocolate it will make me fat!!

Dont Ask this cab driver to go through the Drive Through

Unbelievable. This cab driver got off scot free today after driving into a McDonald restaurant in Wellington and injuring a Man. $500 restorative Justice if you please??? Well Merry Christmas Mr Cab Driver you better go and buy a Lotto ticket cos someone is on your side. Is this Justice? Surely the judge cannot be serious? If I see this cab driver on the Rank at Wellington Airpoirt next time I visit I will be giving him a very wide birth. Surely he should have had his license revoked. There does not seem to be any explanation why he drove into the McDonalds restaurant. So the New Zealand justice system succeeds once again!!!

So incredibly proud

I am so proud of our wonderful team from 'The Boyfriend'. The Boyfriend was a very special show for me having wanted to do it since I was 12 years old. It goes to show if you have passion for a project it can be very rewarding. The season itself was extremely so but to now be honoured with 14 Napta nominations is just the icing on the cake. To the cast, orchestra and crew thanks for making this a great experience.

Another marriage bites the dust

Well girls according to Perez Hilton, Ryan Reynolds is back on the market. According to the Gossip column  Reynolds and Scarlett Johansen Have split up after only two years of marriage. Im sure if he needs comforting there are lots of offers.

LIz Who?????

Just as we suspected Elizabeth Hurley is a media hungry fame whore. What exactly is she famous for, certainly not her acting talents or should I say lack of acting talent. So she went out with Hugh Grant and eclipsed his fame by wearing an iconic dress. She then proceeded to have a son whose father she wouldnt name....ohh the suspense. Then as her star was descending she sold her wedding to Hello Magazine. Now I love Hello Magazine but please Liz Hurley is a big big nobody. And no she couldnt settle to a happy marriage with her beautiful son and husband. Instead she has to publicly snog one of the biggest Man whores in the world. How very convenient!!! Voila shes back in the news again. What next Liz. I for one really dont care what you get up to. She would make a perfect beard for a gay man...oh thats right...that box has already been ticked!!!

Cant wait for these Ads!!!

Tennis world number one Rafael Nadal is following in the footsteps of soccer players David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo to model men's underwear for Italian designer Giorgio Armani.
The fashion house announced on Friday that the 24 year-old will be the global testimonial for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans for the spring/summer 2011 collections.
The first campaign featuring Nadal will launch in February.
Both Ronaldo and Beckham have previously stripped down to their underwear for Emporio Armani, with Beckham even posing for billboards with his wife Victoria, of Spice Girls fame.
Nadal won this year's French, Wimbledon and U.S. Open titles to knock Roger Federer off the top of the rankings.

Definitely know of one person who will be stocking up on Armani!!!

Moving back a few Centuries

Is is just me or do the scenes of the heir to the throne and his wife being attacked  on the streets of London remind  me of another royal rebellion on the other side of the english Channel. Okay Camilla doesnt have the beauty of Marie Antionette and Im not a great fan but a mass mob baying for their heads is so archaic in this age. I am disgusted by the mob mentallity. These youths are supposed to be academics, the future leaders of the world. Scary, very scary. To those people who did this, your anger is turning viscious and personal. The Prince of Wales and his wife are not the reason for your predicament. Perhaps you should vent at the banks and financial institutions that have left your country in the state it is in thus making the need for the government to take the actions it has. Lets be real here.

Best Dressed this week

Okay its been difficult this week to find someone for this award but I think Taylor Swift wins hands down. Showing true elegance this young lady gets it right yet again. She really is the opitome of glamour and dressing appropriately.

Waiting for the postman to call

So if we were in the well to do circle this is what we can expect to get through our letter box in the next few days. A lovely Christmas card from the frollicking young couple pictured. However it is highly unlikely that one will receive one. i have to say Camilla actually looks quite good in this picture...has it been retouched. She usually looks so damn sour but she actually looks quite content with her husband. Perhaps hes slipped her something(now now keep it seemly). Any way to their HRH's merry Christmas. Its a delightful card...its just a pity mine has been lost in the mail. Damn New Zealand Post.

Just Suppose!!!!

So how very different would be in the world if the royal wedding was to be a royal civil union. For a start there would be a real queen on the throne one day. And what a gay old time we would have. Can you imagine the garden parties? Of course there would have to be a revamp of all those guardsmen in their uniforms. I see more leather and perhaps leather harnesses. At least on American state visits the gay military would have an active role to play. But back to the actual civil union. Would everyone have to curtsey or would it just look mildly homoerotic. Would the crowds assembled wave rainbow flags. Focus would not be on who wore the best hat but the best shoes. One problem though, how would one continue the bloodline....hire a surrogate.

So I have decided to write a FICTIONAL weekly diary leading up to the wedding. This will be from the perspective of it being the first gay royal marriage..... This is meant to be a bit of fun so please dont take it too seriously. Watch this space for the first installment!!!!

love and lust in the big city

So what is the difference between love and lust, and can any of us say we have truly been in love. Sure, we have all lusted after underwear clad erections (thanks JT for that enduring mental picture but is it love. I think not. Then there is the difference from the people we love and people we are in love with. So damn confusing sometimes. I have often thought i have been in love, maybe it was just the idea of being in love but 90% of the time it was just a lust thing. Im not saying lust is a bad thing in fact it can be quite rewarding. I remember high school and falling in love with one of the other boys. He was beautiful and i often wonder what has happened to him since. But looking back it really was just lust and the thought of the love we could have shared gave me many happy hours of self satisfaction. They say it is better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all but I seriously wonder sometimes if i have ever been truly in love. How will I know???

25 years on

Dec 1st 1985 I lost one of the most amazing women i have known. She lived with so much pain but was strength personified until the very end. I miss her today as much as i did then and have so many memories of her that  I cherish everyday. We must never forget our parents or take them for granted for they love us unconditionally. Whatever else you do today please tell your mother or your father that you love them. You never know when it will be too late.

Oscar hosts Announced

An interesting choice for the Oscar hosts next year. We all know Anne Hathaway can sing, dance do it all from her stint with Hugh Jackman on the Oscars two years ago but James Franco....time will tell. Anything is better than last years debacle. And at least they will be nice to look at.

RIP

Sad news today that comedic actor  Leslie Nielsen has passed away. His comedy roles over the past couple of decades have been fantastic. My personal favourite is the pilot in Flying High. A touch close to the  bone for those times but absolutely hilarious. And one of my favourite lines of all time ' Dont Call me Shirley' something I have included in both productions of The Wizard of oz I have directed. Rest in Peace sir!!

What are her parents thinking

Not only have her parents encouraged a recording deal at age 10 (OMG have you heard the song) but now she makes red carpet appearances dressed like this. What the hell????? Your 10 for gods sakes!!!!Shame on you Will and Jada Pinkett Smith.

My pick for most stylish royal bride

Probably the most stylish royal bride of this generation. Lady Helen Windsor was a most beautiful bride. Hopefully Kate might learn from her great style. Mind you Im a little biased. As a child I had great hopes of a royal romance between myself and the lady Helen. Who'd have thought.

Thoughts and Prayers today

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of those who have perished at the Pike River Mine. Now is not a time for condemnation but a time for togetherness.

Todays blog is about RESPECT

Respect.. Something that seems to be lacking in todays society. We should respect people differences. We should respect that people have a different outlook to ourselves. We should respect people enough to not go behind peoples backs and make decisions without consultation.. Without respect for each other we have nothing. I respect all my friends in different ways even if at times I dont agree with their outlook. Please try and think about this when making arbitrary decisions that will affect peoples lives. Small things affect so many bigger things.and most of all respect peoples opinions even though they may not be the same as yours.

What a great Idea...the mind boggles

Two undertakers in the northwestern German city of Cologne are trying to tap into the gay market by selling coffins adorned with images of male nudes.

The prize piece in their display window is a coffin decorated with images of mostly naked, muscular young men in athletic poses inspired by Italian Renaissance paintings.

"We believe you should be able to have a coffin that lets you embark on your last journey in a way that reflects how you lived your life," undertaker Thomas Brandl told Reuters on Thursday.

The unconventional coffin, which costs $2,954, has aroused fascination among customers, said Brandl: "People are really interested because it's so unique. Reactions have been very positive so far."

Brandl, 32, and his 34-year-old business partner Michael Koenigsfeld, said they had branched out into the gay market in order to satisfy the increasing number of special requests they received.

"Even though the Lord Mayor of Berlin, the vice-chancellor and many others openly admit to being homosexual nowadays, marginal groups still face prejudices and bureaucratic hurdles," the pair said in a statement.
They said they provided an individual and different service which offered a warm and fantastical departure for same-sex couples.

The gay couple also sell coffins and urns in rainbow colours - the international symbol of the gay and lesbian movement - and offer burials around a tree reserved exclusively for homosexuals.

Given estimates which suggest that around one in 10 of Cologne's population is homosexual, Brandl and Koenigsfeld are well placed to serve the gay community.

The pair also cater for the heterosexual market in an unconventional way, giving customers the opportunity to get involved in designing coffins for their loved ones.

"You can choose different colours and designs," Brandl said.
"You could go for Cologne's skyline or lots of women on your coffin. A grandmother might like images of her grandchildren on hers - there are loads of possibilities."

I want one with Marilyn Monroe images all over it!!!!

WTF

Why would someone ruin a perfectly good dress by adding something that there is no description for. Your seventeen for gods sake, dress like a seventeen year old. Oh dear me!!!! has she never heard the phrase less is more.

Who is the most eligible royal bachelor

So now Prince William is off the market. who will take his place as most eligible royal bachelor. Most would pick Prince Harry who has a roguish charm but my pick is Andrea Casiraghi, 26 year old son of Princess Caroline of Monaco. With movie star good looks and a body to die for he would be any girls fantasy Prince.

Hot Gossip

A little birdie tell me a NZ version of a worldwide phenomenon is getting prepared to take to our screens. Typical of NZ TV to jump on the bandwagon. Lets just hope its a little more enticing than other drivel we have encountered like NZ Idol (who won that again?) or NZ's Next top model (with 'International top model' Colin whats his name who gives gay men a bad name and the hostess wth the personality of a pet rock ). However the two names(watch this space) Ive heard bandied about as judges really makes one cringe. I say make Paul Henry a judge, at least he will provide some entertainment.

Best dressed this week

The future Princess of Monaco,Charlene Wittstock certainly dressed to impress on Monaco's national day showing she is definitely a contender for best dressed this week. Both outfits show a sense of style and grace and proves she is the right choice for her future husband. His dearly departed mother would be proud.Pity Caroline's daughter looks like some kind of possessed child!

Thoughts on Glee

I have just watched Episode three of the new season of Glee. Glee has a magical ability to make one see songs used in ways you never thought about. i want to hold your hand was a beautiful rendition fitting to the situation. I know its not Shakespeare or Checkov but its great to see them artistically thinking outside the square. It would be so easy to use some already classic soppy song but instead they take a classic and they make the songs their own, take ownership and deliver something very special to the audience. Lennon and McCartney should be proud of their song being used in such a way.

Plus Kurts hat rocked!!! Im off to get one just like it to wear to the royal wedding!!!

Glee rocks wth gwyneth

Be yourself

A very wise woman once said to me 'be yourself, dont try and be what others want you to be and dont be afraid of your emotions'. I have lived that way ever since. It hasnt been easy to say the least but I am proud of who I am and what I have achieved. Yes I wear my heart on my sleeve but at least you know what your getting. To those who struggle with their identity i give the same advice but add....your true friends will not judge. They will stand by you for they are the ones that truly love you!!

A Royal Wedding

Why do we live in a world full of knockers. I cried today when I saw the interview of Prince William and Kate Middleton. What a lovely gesture William giving Kate his mothers ring was. It was a very personal and symbolic gesture and one I applaud. If I was straight and giving my fiancee a ring what a fitting tribute to my mother that would be. Please lets not compare Kate to Diana, that could spell doom from the start. She is a articulate well educated woman who is marrying the man she loves. Lets be fair and give her a chance!

Although have to say not sure about the boring blue dress!!!
