Smile its Christmas

Christmas is over for another year and on boxing day I find myself waking up feeling pretty average and thinking to myself why do we do it. Every year we gather together and eat far too much and in some cases drink too  much. We spend too much and generally over indulge. And then the next day we suffer for that over indulgence.
However Christmas is also a time of celebration and yesterday the looks of joy on the childrens faces as they opened their christmas presents made it all seem so worth while.
Its also a wonderful time to share fun and laughs with your closest friends which is what I did last night. A few rounds of Charades, fireworks and a bottle of french champagne later looking back makes the headache this morning seem almost worth it.
I hate the thought of anyone being alone on Christmas Day, it saddens me. But thinking about that this morning I think its sad that people are alone anytime of the year but i think at Christmas is when this hits home the most.
Please whatever you do thsi festive season spare a smile for the pensioner that you pass in the street, a cheery hello to those neighbours you see but do not know. It could make someones day.

Lets try and make our new years resolutions this year self less ones and think about how we can make the world a slightly better place with just one smile!!
