WOW

Just watched Behind the Candelabra the biopic of Liberace starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon. What amazing performances. So much so that you forget who they are . But the most amazing performance be it very short is Debbie Reynolds as Liberaces mother. Just Wow. This is a must see. The whole cast including Scott Bakula, Dan Ackroyd and Rob Lowe are all fantastic. Definitely deserving of all the awards garnered on them so far.

Another Royal Baby

Congratulations to Charlotte Casiraghi, daughter of Princess Caroline of Monaco and Hanover who has given birth to a baby boy to her french comedian boyfriend who is much older than she. like mother , like daughter.

The latest royal christening

The other royal baby born into the royal family has been christened. Frederick Windsor and Sophie Winkelman's daughter Maud has been christened wearing the same garment as Prince George and also at St James Palace. I'm glad Prince George didn't wear the bonnet. Apparently Lady Sophie tried to ignore the photographers as they drove in. Honey you are not in Hollywood now, and you are only a minor royal. Any publicity is good publicity.

Just Saying....

So Halle Berry had a son...and we care, Why?

Kim and Kayne have released the second pic of North....Again , who cares?

Happy birthday to Simon Cowell, Taylor Hicks, Vladimir Putin, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Joy Behar, Tim Minchin, Jane Torville.

Remembering!

So I thought I d start a new thing. How some our favourite stars of yesterday look nowadays. This first one was one of my favourite TV mothers. At 71 It looks like she has seen the surgeon more than once or twice. So goodnight Mama.
Yes its Michael Learned. Otherwise known as Mama Walton.

Yet ANother ROyal WEdding

This past weekend has seen the wedding of Prince Jaime of Bourbon Parma and Viktória Cservenyák. Now I hear you say 'Who'. Prince Jamie is the cousin of King WiIlen Alexander of the Netherlands which makes him grandson, nephew and cousin of three different monarchs. In english terms he is the Peter Phillips of the Netherlands.
Apparently it was termed as an Intimate Family Wedding. Not sure how that is possible with a few hundred guests.

In attendance of course were all the royal family including the king and queen and their daughters. The Queen looked ever stylish but really those mathing outfits on those girls are pretty damn awful. It takes me back to my sisters wedding in 1971 when my cousins wore matching outfits.

In the heat of Passion...

Just read this report....oh my god, hope it was worth it.

'A Ukrainian couple's inability to rein in their passion for each other ended in tragedy when a woman was killed by a train and her partner had his legs torn off during pre-dawn love-making on a railway track, police say.

The accident took place in the southeastern Ukrainian region of Zaporizhia early on Saturday.

"Returning from our friends', my girlfriend and I could not overcome our passionate nature and wanted to feel a sense of thrill near a railway track," a police statement quoted the 41-year-old man as saying.

A police spokesman separately said on Sunday that the pair was believed to have been drunk.

The woman died on the spot while the man was hospitalised with his legs torn off below the knee.

Police did not release the names of the victims, saying it had opened a criminal probe over the safety violation.'

You think!!!!!

And Miss World is....

Miss Phillipines for the first time in the history of the contest. and Surpirse surpirse Miss New Zealand doesnt even register. CE on Miss World NZ organisers get your s... together.

Best Dressed for last week

So you would have thought the Emmys would hsave been a fashion fiesta but I personally found the fashion this year boring. Im sorry Julianne Hough (I hear you ask ...WHO?), apart from the fact you really arent the huge star you think you are but wearing a see through dress is just slutty. Its not fashion Forward its just DUMB.

SO this week my pic for best dressed is not from the Emmys but from The opening of the Metropolitan Opera's season of Eugene Onegin. Personally I think this has to be one of the most stylish dresses I have seen this year. Its wearer is actress Diane Kruger and the designer is Prabal Gurung.

Watch out for this designer. He is Nepalese by nationality born in SIngapore and first presented a collection at New York Fashion week in 2009.

OMG Strangest Shoes ever!!

So I was trolling through pictures online of royalty and I came across this doozy. You have got to be frigging joking. These get my vote for the Ugliest shoes ever. And you will not  believe who was wearing them. For some reason they remind me of the hobbits feet from Lord of the rings but maybe a more feminine version.
SO the wearer was Princess Caroline of Monaco...Usually very stylish ...what happened???

Sophia Grace Replaced

Ellen sensation Sophia Grace is no longer in the movie version of Into the Woods. Originally cast as Little Red Riding Hood, in a mutual decision between her parents and the Producers she has been replaced by Broadway star Lilla Crawford. Her father said that it had been decided that she was too young for the part.

Im sure they'll be bring out a Sophia Grace and Rosie movie very soon just like the Olsen
Twins did those terrible movies in their early teen years.

Fashion Emergency

OMG

I think someone needs to take the royal ladies of Luxembourg in hand and give them some style lessons. I have to say that Graand Duckess MariaTheresa is a bold dresser and pretty much gets it right but at Prince Felix's wedding she got it Soooooo wrong it was a train wreck. She looked like and overly stuffed wrapped candy and her daughter in law Princess Stephanie wasnt much better, although slighhtly more subdued. However for a young woman she looked like she was in her fifties.
Prevoulsy both of these royal ladies have managed to get it mostly right but on this occasion its the thumbs down
I thought the Grand duchess from the front wasnt too bad but it got worse when she turned around.

The Other Royal Baby

I bet Princess Michael of Kent is already scheming how she can get her granddaughter Maud who was born around the same time to Prince George of Cambridge.
Here is a pic of the other Royal baby (a bit like the other Bolyn Girl) born recently.
Picture is Mrince and Princess Michael of Kent, Lord Frederick Windsor and his wife actress Sophie Winkelman. I stil lfind it incredibly funny that an actress who played the scheming sister of the young King of England in the series 'The Palace' is now a member of the real Royal Family.

Wheres Paris Hilton when you need her?

When I look at Miley you know who, I just cringe. When you dont have talent who have to become a fame whore in the mould of the Kardashians and The original fame whore Paris Hilton. However Paris did it with class...sort of.
The latest Miley revelation is she prefers weed to cocaine...yes Miley we get it, you are not Hannah Montana anymore but please can yuo just f#%* off now.
Now as far as Paris. where is she? Well Paris Hilton has been DJ'ing in Ibiza and her latest single 'Good time' is about to drop  on Ocrtober 1st.  Expect the video to be a little more classier than a Miley Cyrus perfromance at the VMAs. Ive seen a clip of it and its sexy and reasonably tasteful....sort of.

ROyal hotness

So heres some super hot Royals you seemed to have slipped under the radar.

Princess Stephanie's two eldest children from her liaison with her bodyguard, Daniel Ducruet.

Often overshadowed by their cousins the Casiraghi's I think these two hold their own.

20 year old Louis and 19 year old Pauline are pictured with their mother. Although with no royal title they are still part of the best looking royal family on the planet.

Royal Christening Venue announced

Prince George will be christened on 23rd October in the  Chapel Royal at St James's Palace by the Archbishop of Canterbury, The Most Rev Justin Welby, with close family and godparents in attendance.
The choice of venue is a break with recent tradition, as the Queen, the Prince of Wales and Prince William were all christened in Buckingham Palace.
The Chapel Royal holds vivid memories for the Duke, as it was the place where the body of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, lay in front of the altar for a week after she died.
The Duke and his brother Prince Harry were taken to the chapel to pay their respects in private at the time, before the Princess's very public funeral at Westminster Abbey.
Royal aides said the choice of venue was “very much a personal choice” by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who considered other royal chapels including St George's Chapel, Windsor, where Prince Harry was christened.
The chapel, built by Henry VIII in 1540, is steeped in history. Decorated by Hans Holbein in honour of Henry's short-lived marriage to Anne of Cleves, it was the place where Elizabeth I said her prayers for the defence of the realm against the Spanish Armada in 1588.
Mary I’s heart is buried beneath the choir stalls and Charles I received Holy Communion in the chapel before his execution at Whitehall in 1649.
It was also the venue for Queen Victoria's wedding to Prince Albert and its resident organists have included Henry Purcell and George Frederick Handel.
Princess Beatrice was the last member of the Royal family to be christened in the chapel, in 1988 – an occasion that was attended by the Duke of Cambridge with his mother.
The christening is likely to be the first occasion when official photographs will be taken of the Queen with her three direct successors, the Prince of Wales, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince George, who will be three months old.
It will be the first time a monarch has been photographed with three heirs since Queen Victoria was alive.
The Duke and Duchess's choice of godparents, and the list of guests who will be at the christening, will be released nearer the time.

Wicked is...WIcked

Having never seen WIcked before last night I ventured out in Auckland to see the Australian production of the show.
Being like a little boy in a lolly shop I sat through the first act with a magnifiscent grim on my face. At one point I even squelled in delight when the lighting was just quite simply stunning. Blew me away.
The two leading ladies are fantastic, Elphiba was just spectacular and Galinda had obviuosly studied Kristen Chenoweth. Maggie Ki
rkpatrick( forever etched in my brain as The Freak, or those who watched prisoner will know what I mean) was fab.
I have to say I sat there during the second Act and thought this reminds me of Into the woods. The first ct was spectacular, the second not so spectacular but alot deeper. A funnily enough  my flatmate said the same thing when I returned home.

Thel ighjting , the set and the costumes were all stunning.

A spectacular night at the theatre, who needs broadway or the west end when there is talent like this in the Antipodes.

The Emmys

So tomorrow is the Emmys, so exciting, considering NZ is represented .

ALso Neil Patrick Harris is hosting and if he does as good a job as he does with the Tony's it will be fun.

So who is going to win

The creative awards have already been presented and the biggest winner has been Candelabra, the HBO film about the life of Liberace starring Michael Douglas and Matt Damon so methinks at least one will get a nod. However they have stiff competition with AL Pacino, Dominic Cumberbatch and toby Jones.
 SO  here are my pics

Oustanding Actor in a Drama series - Kevin Spacey, HOuse of Cards
Outstanding Actress - Rbin Wright, House of Cards
Outstanding Actor Miniseries - Michael Douglas

However Not putting money on any of these picks ..LOL

Latest Royal Wedding

And now we introduce Princess Claire of Luxembourg. Married a few hours ago to Prince Felix. Wearing an Elie Saab creation she certainly is a beauty, mind you hes not bad himself.

However I think the style star of the wedding is Beatrice Borremeo, and  I know you are saying woh the hell is she. She is the girlfriend of Pierre Casaraghi, youngest son of Princess Caroline of Monaco. Love the hat if you can call it that.

Another royal Wdding

Probably the best Lookimg of the luxembourg boys, Prince Felix has tied the knot with his beautiful Heiress bride Claire in a civil ceremony. The big religious ceremony will be this weekend and I have ot say I am looking forward to it. There will be hats galore. However I have to say I love their getaway vehicle from their civil ceremony, a contrast indeed to the coaches of the british royals

50 shades of Gay..oops grey

So the lead actor has been cast for Fifty Shades of Grey.

None other than Charlie Hunnam.Okay the name wont mean much to some of you but those who know the original British series Queer as Folk will know the name probably not the face. And from that series he definitely does not have a problem with nudity or sex scenes.

Also famous for Pacific Rim(this is not a sexual act that he performed on Queer as Folk...altho it could be) and Sons of ANarchy, he has been described as the ppor mans HEath Ledger or Heath Ledger without the talent. Personally i think thats a little unfair.

Not just one royal wedding

So who knew it would be such a huge royal weekend with not one but four royal weddings last weekend.. Okay some are royal by default but still royal.

Firstly of course there was Andrea Casiraghi's wedding in Monaco. Bit alternative if you ask me but still royal.

Then there was two royal families uniting. Prince Muhamad ALi of Egypt, Son of Kinf Fuad of Egypt (the last king) married Princess Noal Zaher of Afganistan, granddaughter of the last king there.

Then we have The King of Swedens nephew Gustaf Magnuson.

And finally we have the Aga Khans Son, Prince Rahim.

Wow busy weekend. Think Maybe the wedding in Monaco would have been the most fun!

just had to post this..priceless

WTF..VMA

SO last night I  watched the VMA's.....What an outstanding opening from Lady Gaga....A true theatrical entertainment.

However from then on it went down hill very fast.

Miley Cyrus...if you wanted to come across as a no talent skanky ho...you sure did suceed. Its a pity
a. you cant sing
b. you cant dance (white man dancing comes to mind)
c. was it really necessary for you to feel yourself and Robin Thicke up with that big pointed finger...

DISGUSTING.....Not even cutting edge stuff.

Pretty much turned off after this!!!!!!

And really Taylor Swift..what are were you wearing..Its the VMA's not the Academy awards

Another Royal Wedding Perhaps

Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson are lovers again, it was claimed last night.
The couple have remained close since their divorce in 1996 and are said to have rekindled their romance.
Friends even believe they could remarry after the Queen invited Fergie to visit her at Balmoral Castle earlier this month.
One pal is reported to have said: “Mark my words, they will remarry. It is only a matter of time.”
Another added: “They are a wonderful couple together and, better still, pretty amazing parents.”
In 2009 Andrew touched on the possibility of remarrying his former wife in a candid interview.
The Duke of York said: “Well, let’s put it another way, I can neither confirm nor deny the possibility.”

OMG..Just Saying

SO they are making another film version of Annie and oh how wrong can it be.

Jamie Foxx as Benjamin Stacks which one can only presume is the Daddy Warbucks Character, and wait for it Cameron Diaz as Miss Hannigan..are you kidding me. The star as Annie is Quvenzhane Wallis who was nominated for an Oscar this year as best actress being the youngest ever nominated. OH Dear God..I will not be going to see this movie. 1. I hate Annie with a passion and 2. Well  oddest casting EVER!

Better Late and never

Okay so here is my view of the Voice Australia..and I know for any australians reading this we in New Zealand are a few months behind.

I have just listened to an interview with Harrison Craig the winner and what a beautiful instrument his voice is. Defenitely a deserved winner.

However I think the real winner of the Voice Australia was Ricky Martin.I think after his appearance on this show he has a whole new fan base. What a nice man and frankly his performances firstly the duet with his contestant was AMAZING and his new song although a little cliche was fantastic. This Man knows how to perform.

Well done Harrison, Hope you have a long and great career but Well Done Ricky Martin, I am now a fan.

Gay Marriage

So today is the first day of the rest of our lives...or something like that. Today I can legally get married in New Zealand. Isnt it..FABULOUS!!!However it presents a new conundrum in my life. All these years Ive had an excuse not to find a partner( well my mother always said never sleep with anyone before you are married.)(I may or may not have followed her advice). But now there are no obstacles in my way, it would seem that the pressure is now on to find a husband.
All joking aside, what a marvellous day for New Zealand proving we lead the world in some things and give a big up yours to President Vladimir Putin and Russia. Maybe I could find me a Russian Mail order.........well it worked for the phillipino ladies . Just Saying!

Leave them in peace

I am disgusted that after all these years more claims have come out about Diana , Princess of Wales Death. Let her rest in Peace for goodness sake. All these hurtful rumours can only be upsetting her two boys. Lets accept what the courts have found and lets get on with our lives and let the family remember their mother as they would like to. There will always be someone who supposes a conspiracy theory..Look at Marilyns death and Elvis's death.

New Zealander to appear in new season of Downton Abbey... but playing an Australian

Downton Abbey, the world's favorite country-house soap, is getting a dose of opera.
Producers say soprano Kiri Te Kanawa will appear in the upcoming fourth season as real-life diva Nellie Melba.
The New Zealand-born singer said "I couldn't say yes fast enough" to appearing in a show she loves - and enjoyed her time on set so much she named her new dog Abbey.
Te Kanawa sang for journalists in London at a preview of the new season on Tuesday (local time). In the new series, Melba - a huge star of the early 20th century - joins the aristocratic Grantham clan for a house party.

but as an

Oh my god, Finally Nicole Kidman has got her style back. During her marriage to Tom Cruise her style was superb but I guess if I had a wife shed be stylishly dressed too(just saying... take out of that what you will
) but recently shes been more miss than hit. But here at the opening of Cannes shes exquisite.

The next royal Wedding

Im very excited. Just over three weeks and the worlds royalty will assemble in Stockholm for the marraige of the kings youngest child Princess Madeleine. She will be marrying an american Chris O'Neill in a lavish ceremony in the Royal Chapel. She is certainly a beauty and is going to make a glorious bride. I watched the last swedish wedding on line when Princess Victoria wed Daniel and although I did not understand a word anyone said (only swedish I know is the swedish Chef off Muppets) it truly was a great family wedding.
Roll on the 8th June!!!!

Did you know...

That on the 10th of May a royal Prince was born...in auckland.

Proud new parents Crown Prince Tupouto’a and Princess Sinaitakala are celebrating the birth of their first son, reportedly named Prince Taufa’ahau Manumataongo, who surprised the family with an early arrival today, May 10, in Auckland, New Zealand.

Maybe a playmate for The duke and Duchess of Cambridges child.
