just married

A lovely picture as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge go off to change for the evening party.

two more looks i liked

The royal wedding is giving us some great fashion highlights and lowlights.

As photos come to hand here are tow more great looks

One is Zara Phillips who is going to marry later this year and I think looked stunning. Liked the look but didnt like the shoes or the length.

Secondyt is her sister in Law Autumn Phillips although I think outlclassed by Sophie Winkelman, wife of Lord Frederick Windsor(son of Prince Michael of Kent). She is an actress and played a royal princess in the TV series Palace which screened here last year. A beautiful look. Everything about it is right.

tied for best dressed ...SO FAR

Say what you will i loved how stylish Posh looked. And you cant go wrong with an accesory like David beckham...looking mighty fine.

And in blue and stylish was Tara Palmer Tompkinson.

So which royal title

Which royal dukedom will William and Kate get?

The smart money is on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Extinct since 1904 was expected to go to Prince Edward upon his marriage but instead he opted for the Earl of WEssex, reportedly after seeing Shakespeare in Love. It is expected he will be created Duke of Edinburgh on Prince philips death.

But why not The Duke of Windsor??? Bad memories perhaps???

royal Wedding Dress Prediction

So here is my prediction about what Catherine Middletons Wedding Dress may look like.
Looking through picture of her dress style over the years there wont be a lot of lace and ruffles like Dianas. I would suggest she may go the same route as Princess Margaret and have a more streamlined gown.
So perhaps the very plain deep V neckline but I see her with a more fitting skirt into a long train.
The style was seen most recently with the wedding of margarets son Lord Linley and his wife.

Or she could go for something dramatically romantic like that of Lady Sarh Chatto

I guess we will find out in just over 24 hours. Let the excitement begin.
Im sure whatever it is it will look beautiful and will inspre a whole new generation of brides.

Royal Fashion???

Seen at last weekends royal church service Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and the Countess of Wessex give us some very interesting fashion choices.
Have to say Eugenie and Sophies choices are a bit matronly. And what the hell is that on Sophies head.
I kind of quite like Beatrices efforts, as its coordinated which is somewhat unusual for her, although Im not entirely sure about the hat.
Is this a fore-runner of what they will be wearing tomorrow?
I hope that butterfly Hat Beatrice wore at Peter Phillips' wedding is not going to make a reappearance!!!

Lest We Forget!!

Anzac Day always reminds me of my Dad. He served our country inEgypt, Italy and Japan. he saw the Atrocities of War and lived to tell the tales unlike so many others. He was awarded the keys to the city of Trieste in Italy many years after he served with the Allie Occupation there. I am so proud of my Dad and every time i hear the last post I am reminded of him and all the good he did. We shall never Forget!

Who does she think she is

Rachel Glucina! WHO?

For those of you who dont know she is a try hard gossip columnist on New Zealands leading newspaper.
This week she published an article about the top ten stars who take themselves too seriously! Really?
Firstly I doubt the word star can be used on 50% of the people named.
And secondly I think probably number 1 on the list should have been Rachel Glucina herself.
I have had the misfortune to meet the aforementioned wannabe socialite at a meeting a few years back where she informed me that mention in her column could make or break an event.
Get a life Miss Glucina!!!!!

too many rules

It seems the Queen could visit during the World cup. She will be in Australia for the heads of commonwealth meeting and could just pop across the ditch to visit us. However the labour party must give their approval as it is close to the election and could be misconstrued. Come on like the Queens going to get out on the hustings.
Anyway dont know why we are bothering wasting all that money on an election. We all know the outcome already...surely the money used could be used more effectively elsewhere seeing as we are supposedly broke.

Schuesters Gay past

Did you know that Mathew Morrison long before appearing on Glee was part of a Gay boy band called Boys r Us.
Well in a movie anyway. The movie was called Marci X.
It has played here on Sky. It stars Lisa Kudrow and Damon Wayans and is pretty average.

Okay the accompanying picture look kinda gay but one is from a Broadway fundraiser and the other from a musical called Million Miles.

This sounds like fun

A new show on broadway, well its been going for a month is 'Wonderland' and yes you guessed it, its Alice in Wonderland. But it has a modern twist. About a modern day Alice who goes on an adventure far beneath the streets of New York with a cast of charachters that help her discover what is really important. With a score by the composer who wrote Jekyll and Hyde it sounds like fun.

However it has not got good reviews. In the words of one critic it is as spectacular as it is spectacularly bad. Oh well! Nice try.

This is hilarious

I just had to repost this,,,very funny

It had been a term of endearment which had cemented links with her Greek heritage and first adorned her cars more than five years ago following a loving gift from her husband.
But the nickname Kiki, given to lawyer Kristen Perry before she could even walk, has now put her in hot water with New South Wales' Roads and Traffic Authority because her number plate also translates into a term for female genitals in the Filipino language of Tagalog.
"I rang my father last night and said: 'Do you know you have been calling me vagina all my life?'," she said.
"He just said 'What?' He was appalled."
Mrs Perry has been left flabbergasted after being sent a "please explain", the RTA threatening to confiscate the number plate if she did not "show cause" within a fortnight.
An RTA spokeswoman said one person had complained that the plates were insulting to the Filipino language so Mrs Perry and another motorist, who also had "Kiki" featured, were issued notices.
"I have always been called Kiki by my family, many of my friends call me that," Mrs Perry said.
"I think it is just so funny."
Mrs Perry said Kiki was a shortening of her name in the Greek language and the number plates were given to her by her husband, Steven, five years ago - first on a Mini before she upgraded to a Porsche.
And she did not take long to reply to the RTA.
"I have never been advised by anyone who speaks the Tagalog language that my name or number plate offends them," she wrote.
"... it has been my name since birth and your letter calling my name 'offensive' is disturbing."
Mrs Perry said although some parts of the complaint were "hilarious" it was also "really sad" it had reached a stage where her plates could be taken.
The RTA spokeswoman said that "by law, the content of personalised plates must not carry offensive language, religious or sexual content".

MIND YOUR LANGUAGE

Tagalog is the first language to about one third of the population of The Philippines, including in the capital of Manila, and a second language to most of the rest of the country. Its standardised form, called Filipino, is the national language.

Some People

i am horrified at peoples response at the news that the Middletons had lunch with the Queen. People saying comments like ' Royal snobbery'. Please!!
Lets put it in perspective. If you Had a child marrying would you have lunch prior to the wedding with yuor future daughter in law or son in laws grand parents. i think not. Most of us would probably only meet them at the wedding. Lets get some perspective and get our heads out of our arses people.

Sad

Michael Sarrazin has died. Not many people will know who Im talking about but he was the star of one of my favourite movies as a teen 'They shoot horses dont they" with Jane Fonda. The Canadian born actor had quite a good career if not however becoming a major star. He was 70 and had battled with cancer.

3D Porn

If you want to see 3 D Porn head for Hong Kong. Called 'This Aint AvatarXXX' a 3D porn was made last year but this is this is the first publicly screened movie.

For those interested in a plotline 3D nudestavaganza is a remake of Hong Kongs most popular adult film, Sex and Zen originally released in 1991.
The new version called 3-D Sex and Zen : Exteme Ecstasy is set in the Ming Dynasty and chronivles the story of a young man who after being introduced to the erotic world of an aristocrat and realises his exwife is the love of his life.

Aww so romantic

oh dear me

I guess there are some places name dropping just doesnt work.
The Seacroft Restaurant  in North Wales on a Sunday night couldnt accomodate HRH Prince William.
The groom-to-be (14 days to go) and his Royal Air Force squadron were turned away from the Trearddur Bay eatery Sunday night after the gang was informed that the restaurant just didn't have the space to seat the party of 20—despite the notable (and noble) name drop.
Guess they wont be getting their by royal appointment sign anytime soon.

An Interesting article

I have just read this article which gives a little insight into the royal Family.

An hour with Mrs Margaret Rhodes is worth a week trawling through history books or biographies of the Royal family – and a lot more fun. What other young girl had digs at Windsor Castle during the war and was teased by King George VI about her work for M16? Who is better qualified to record the last days of her aunt, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother? When she takes her place in Westminster Abbey on April 29, this small, birdlike and very astute old lady will have witnessed the marriages of three heirs to the throne – in 1947 as a bridesmaid to Princess Elizabeth and Lt Philip Mountbatten. All because, as she so crisply puts it, “my mother’s sister [Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon] married somebody important [the future King].”
Mrs Rhodes, cousin and friend of the Queen, and lady-in-waiting to the Queen Mother at the time of her death, is a natural anecdotalist and a sharp observer. Her discretion has not always been absolute and her helpfulness can sometimes get her into trouble. That is why it is exciting to see the table in the big bay window of her house in Windsor Great Park strewn with proofs of her memoirs. For years, she has been sitting almost unnoticed in the grandstand of 20th century history, mostly keeping her counsel but occasionally popping up to correct inaccuracies or to provide courteous biographers with guidance over a glass of sherry. Now she has written her own story, The Final Curtsey.
“It was going to be all about my foreign travels and my father [Lord Elphinstone], who was an explorer and big game hunter and lived a fascinating life but, of course, it turned out differently…” That is fortunate for posterity. Her life has been so intertwined with that of the Royal family that her book promises new insights and, if it is anything like her conversation, great verve. She has submitted passages for royal approval, especially knowing that the Queen had not previously wanted her mother’s death – at the age of 101 in 2002 – to be reported in any great detail.
“It was deliciously quiet and peaceful, the whole thing,” she says. “She never left Royal Lodge for the final month of her life and I used to go in every day and have lunch with her on a card table. It was a very gradual drift away. I’ve said in the book exactly what happened. She truly had the death she deserved. All of us would think it best if the Bon Dieu decided to take us when we were asleep in our beds.”
In the past, Mrs Rhodes has loyally debunked the idea that the Queen Mother had “hollow legs” and was partial to a gin and Dubonnet after breakfast. She has also maintained that she was not vindictive towards Mrs Simpson. “I never heard her say anything remotely unpleasant about the Duchess of Windsor.”
Mrs Rhodes is 85, sharp as a tack. In jeans and a smudged blue jumper, she looks outdoorish and busy, as if she’s been interrupted while pruning. Her gardener’s hands are purply-blue and cold as the Scottish keep of her childhood.
Being only 10 months apart in age, she and Princess Elizabeth were “obvious potential playmates” when the Yorks were at Balmoral. They rode hill ponies and picnicked together. “We had blissfully happy times up in Scotland. Birkhall [the small house on the estate, beloved of the Queen Mother and now the Prince of Wales] was a very special place in the lives of all the family.” While she was doing a secretarial course at Egham during the war, Margaret, aged 17, was invited to live at Windsor Castle. Then when she landed a secretarial job at MI6, Buckingham Palace became her “wonderfully convenient” second home.
“Windsor was a good landmark for enemy bombers,” she says. “I remember one night going to an underground shelter – probably part of the dungeons – which meant walking for miles down subterranean corridors and Queen Elizabeth refusing to be hurried, walking very slowly and rather crossly, not wanting to go to the air raid shelter.
“At MI6, it was absolutely drilled into one how secret one had to be but needless to say the Royal family knew I worked there. The King used to tease me, trying to get me to tell him things that were going on, knowing that I couldn’t say.” She says she cried “quite a lot” when she saw the film The King’s Speech. “He was such a wonderfully attractive person. In the family, we didn’t notice his stammer very much. But I can still see the muscles standing out in his neck when he got stuck, trying to get the words out from a depth somewhere.
“A lot of the press stuff has rather downplayed his role, as if the Queen Mother was the stronger person but she often told me she always asked the King’s advice about any proposition.”
Petite and pretty, Margaret Elphinstone, daughter of the 16th Lord Elphinstone and Lady Mary Bowes-Lyon, was one of Princess Elizabeth’s eight bridesmaids. “My family had a little shooting lodge up in Invernesshire and the Queen and Princess Elizabeth came to stay. That is when she asked me. They were without the King, just the female side of the family making plans for the wedding and talking about the dresses.
“To me, as a very country girl, actually to walk through the portals of Norman Hartnell [the royal couturier] was in itself earth-shakingly exciting because it was not a place I would normally ever go.” Driving to the Abbey, waving to the crowds in her long white gloves, made her feel “tremendously grand”. Paired with the Hon Pamela Mountbatten, she walked at the back of the procession into the Abbey, after the titled bridesmaids, because she was just “plain old Miss”.
Prince Philip of Greece made a dazzling impact on all the girls. “He had absolutely god-like good looks. A Viking god. Very blonde, with piercing eyes and clean features. He was dreamlike, really. From the day Princess Elizabeth met him at the Royal Naval College at Dartmouth when she was 13, I don’t think she ever, ever, ever looked at, or thought about, another man. At that age, one didn’t seriously think about being married but one always knew that she had a yen for him.
“He was inclined to be a little bit new-broomish – probably an inevitable reaction to over-traditional things – but all that’s melded together now and he’s become a traditionalist himself. He is much mellower in his older age but there is still a spark of rebellion lying in wait, ready to pounce, which is rather refreshing.
“I think he’s the most amazing person. He’s going to be 90 this year. I can’t believe it. His figure is wonderful still and he works so hard. It was a very difficult position for a man like him, very bright mentally, to accept that you’re always going to walk a couple of paces behind your wife. There was no role model – the Prince Consort was a totally different kettle of fish – so he had to carve out a career for himself. He has done miraculously well.”
By contrast, Margaret had no time at all for Philip’s choice of best man, David Milford Haven. After the bridesmaids had seen the couple off on their honeymoon, pelting them with rose petals, they were taken to dinner by the Prince’s fellow naval officer. “We went somewhere like Quaglino’s and he was much keener on some dolly bird at another table than he was on us. He was palpably frightfully bored by all of us and had a tendency to go for rather prettier girls somewhere else. He was not my idea of a gentleman…
“There were a lot of funny little German and Danish princelings who were our men for the evening. Once of them was rather unfortunately called Prince Phlem – I don’t think with a 'gm’ It wasn’t the most successful banquet of the year.”
Margaret Elphinstone married Denys Rhodes, grandson of the 5th Lord Plunket, when she was 25 in 1950 and they travelled widely for two years before settling down in austerity Britain. “There was still rationing. We ate heart and lots of liver, which I hate. There were terrible things called faggots, now a rather rude term. A kind of meatball. We thought it best not to ask what was in them.”
The couple had two sons and two daughters. Denys Rhodes died in 1981, six months after they moved from Devon to Windsor. Knowing that he needed to be closer to London for cancer treatment, the Queen offered the couple the Garden House in Windsor Great Park, where Mrs Rhodes has lived ever since. The Queen calls in for a drink after church.
“I was up at Balmoral and we were riding on the hill ponies,” she recalls. “I can see the Queen now, exactly as she was. She turned round in the saddle and said: 'How would you like to live in suburbia?’ That was the first I heard of this wonderful house. It was the answer to a prayer and one of her many, many kindnesses.”
A former lady-in-waiting to the Queen Mother, Mrs Rhodes looks forward to seeing Prince William and Catherine Middleton exchange vows at the end of a long courtship. “I think the wedding will be wonderful,” she says. “There certainly can’t be an excuse like not knowing one another properly. I think it’s got every hope.
“There isn’t a marriage in the world that doesn’t have hiccoughs and difficulties. You weather them. I don’t think couples try hard enough.
“I tell my children that life is like making a tapestry. You have one gold thread that you have to sew through the tapestry, which is your marriage. Sometimes it gets frayed and sometimes it gets worn. But you have to work hard to keep your gold thread going. People must not give up too easily.”

I hear theres a very expensive plastic one that wil need to go somewhere after the rugby world cup!

REcognise her?/

All grown up, its the girl from Little Miss Sunshine in her latest movie where she plays Sarah Jessica Parker's daughter. She is now 15 and has little resemblance to the gap toothed little girl with spectacles.Abigail Breslin is her name and the movie is New Years Eve...Sounds like another hit for SJP...:)

Concerning!!!

Dod this slip under the radar or did I just miss it. Here is a report from 4 days ago!

Police said Wednesday they had arrested a female security guard at London's Olympic Stadium after a small amount of the bomb-making material Semtex was found during a search of her car.
London police said the 40-year-old dog handler was arrested at a car park close to the east London site and was being held at a nearby police station on suspicion of possession of an explosive substance.
But the incident was not being treated as terrorist related, they said.
"Searches were carried out at residential addresses in Kent and London, no further substances were found," a police statement said.
"The Counter Terrorism Command is aware but the incident is not being treated as terrorism related," the statement added.
Class A drugs were also found during a search of the woman's car, police confirmed.

Apparently not the first case of this kind at the Olympic stadium.

Prepare Yourselves

Is this becoming a claytons royal wedding

Members of the British Royal Family and Foreign heads of State from Other countries will be ferried to the Abbey in rented Minibuses.  I understand  security issues and cost cutting issues but i shall miss the pomp and circumstance that the british royalty do so well. What are the people who will undoubtedly line the streets of London see? Part of an occasion like this is spotting whos who. Thank goodness I shall be watching it on Tv and not on a London Street. What happened to the lovely parade of carriages(saving petrol) that graced the streets at Williams parents wedding in 1980. Dissapointing.! i do hope its not going to be a bendy bus!!
